MicroSIP is an open-source portable SIP softphone that supports high-quality VoIP calls via SIP protocol and can be installed on your desktop computer.
Setting up voice (VoIP) on the MicroSIP softphone
1. | Firstly, download and install MicroSIP for Windows PC using the default installation instructions: MicroSIP download |
2. | Open MicroSIP App.![]() |
3. | Click on the dropdown arrow on the top right to open the menu.![]() |
4. | Select Add Account...![]() |
5. | Enter the SIP configuration details provided in your VoIP welcome email:

6. | Once the user details have been entered you can then update the default settings. Open the menu and select "Settings" or press “Ctrl+P” on your keyboard. ![]() |
7. | The following are the recommended settings. However, you can update the settings as per your own requirements.

Add contacts to a list
1. | Select the "Contacts" tab and then right-click in the center of the page and select "Add".![]() |
2. | On the pop-up screen, add the "Name" and "Number" of the contact. Select "Presence Subscription". Click "OK". ![]() |
Add BLF / short keys
1. | Open the "Menu" and select "Shortcuts" or press “Ctrl+S” on your keyboard.![]() |

Add "Label", "Number" & select "Type" as shown in the picture below. ("Type" should be selected as "Call" for audio calling) Check for "Enable" should be "Selected". Click "Save". ![]() |
3. | Now you need to restart the MicroSIP application for the changes to take effect. Open the "Menu" and select "Exit" or press “Ctrl+Q” on your keyboard to close the MicroSIP app. ![]() |
4. | Once you restart the MicroSIP App the shortcuts will appear as shown in the picture below.![]() |
