Whether you're new to VoIP or upgrading your phone setup, this guide will walk you through everything you need to get started, from unboxing and connecting to your WiFi network, to making your first call and exploring key features.
Getting Started
π¦ Unboxing
Make sure your package includes:
- WP816 handset
- Charging station
- USB Type-C power adapter
- Battery
- Quick start guide
Insert and Charge the Battery
- Open the battery cover from the back of the handset.
- Insert the battery with the electrodes aligned to the top-right corner.
- Close the battery cover securely.
- Plug the charging station into a power outlet using the USB-C adapter.
- Place the handset on the charging station and fully charge it before first use.
πΆ Setting up your Voyager Wi-Fi Phone
- Power on the handset by holding the Power button.
- Press the Menu key β go to Settings β Wi-Fi Settings β Wi-Fi Network.
- Enable Wi-Fi if itβs off.
- Select your Wi-Fi network from the list and enter the password.
- Once connected, a Wi-Fi icon will appear on the top of the screen.
π Access the Web GUI (Optional for Advanced Setup)
- Press the UP button on the handset to view its IP address.
- On a computer connected to the same network, open a browser and enter the phoneβs IP address.
- Log in using:
β’ Username: admin
β’ Password: (found on the sticker at the back of the handset) - From here, you can configure SIP accounts, preferences, and more.
π Configure SIP Account (If Needed)
- In the Web GUI, go to Accounts β Account 1 or 2.
- Enter your SIP server, username, and password provided by your VoIP provider.
- Save and apply the settings.
π§± Optional: ββββββWall Mounting the Charging Station
- Unscrew the M3 screw from the charging station to remove the wall bracket.
- Drill holes and insert expansion screws into the wall.
- Attach the bracket and secure it with the M3 screw.
- Mount the charging station onto the bracket.

Telephony and Call Handling Features
π How to Make a Callβββββ
β Using the Keypad:
- Wake up the screen by pressing any key.
- Use the keypad to dial the number or extension.
- Press the Send or Call softkey (usually the green phone icon).
- The call will initiate over the active SIP account.
β From the Contacts List:
- Press the Menu key.
- Navigate to Contacts.
- Select a contact and press the Call softkey.
β From Call History:
- Press the Menu key.
- Go to Call History.
- Select a number from the list and press Call.
π How to Transfer a Call
The WP816 supports two types of call transfers:
π 1. Blind Transfer (Unattended): Transfer the call directly without speaking to the third party.
- While on a call, press the Transfer softkey.
- The current call is placed on hold.
- Enter the number or extension you want to transfer the call to.
- Press the Dial key to complete the transfer.
π₯ 2. Attended Transfer: Speak to the third party before completing the transfer.
- While on a call, press the Transfer softkey.
- Enter the number or extension and press Dial.
- Wait for the third party to answer.
- Press the Transfer softkey again to complete the transfer.
π Enable Call Forwarding
π± From the Handset Menu:
- Press the Menu key.
- Navigate to Call Features > Call Forwarding.
- Choose the type of forwarding:
- Always Forward β forwards all calls.
- Busy Forward β forwards calls when you're on another call.
- No Answer Forward β forwards calls if you donβt answer within a set time.
- Enter the destination number (e.g., another extension or mobile number).
- Press Save.
π« Disable Call Forwardingβββββ
π± From the Handset Menu:
- Press the Menu key.
- Go to Call Features > Call Forwarding.
- Select the forwarding type you want to disable.
- Clear the destination number or toggle the setting to Off.
- Press Save.
π Call Hold
Function: Temporarily places a call on hold.
- During a call, press the Hold softkey.
- To resume, press the Resume softkey.
π Do Not Disturb (DND)
Function: Blocks all incoming calls.
- Press the Menu key.
- Go to Call Features > Do Not Disturb.
- Toggle it On or Off.
π Call History
Function: View missed, received, and dialed calls.
- Press the Menu key.
- Go to Call History.
- Select a number to redial or view details.
π Contact Directory
Function: Store and manage phonebook entries.
- Press Menu > Contacts.
- Add, edit, or delete contacts.
- Select a contact and press Call to dial.

- During a call, press the Speaker button to toggle speakerphone on or off.
Troubleshooting Tips
πΆ Wi-Fi Connection Issue
Symptoms: Canβt connect to Wi-Fi, frequent disconnections, or poor signal.
Troubleshooting:
- Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on the device: Menu β Settings β Wi-Fi Settings β Enable Wi-Fi
- Move closer to the router to improve signal strength.
- Restart the phone and router.
- Forget the network and reconnect by re-entering the password.
- Make sure the router supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) or is backward compatible.
π SIP Registration Fails
Symptoms: Canβt make or receive calls; SIP account shows unregistered.
Troubleshooting:
- Double-check SIP credentials (username, password, server address).
- Ensure the device has internet access.
- Reboot the phone.
- Check firewall or NAT settings on your network.
- Use the Web GUI to verify SIP settings: Accounts β Account 1/2 β SIP Settings
π No Audio or Poor Call Quality
Symptoms: One-way audio, echo, or static during calls.
Troubleshooting:
- Check volume settings and ensure the microphone isnβt muted.
- Use a headset to test if the issue is with the speaker/mic.
- Enable Noise Shield and AEC in audio settings.
- Ensure proper NAT traversal settings (STUN/TURN) are configured in SIP settings.
π Battery Drains Quickly
Symptoms: Short battery life even after full charge.
Troubleshooting:
- Reduce screen brightness and timeout settings.
- Disable unused features like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi scanning.
- Ensure the battery is properly seated.
- Replace the battery if itβs old or swollen.
π Device Freezes or Becomes Unresponsive
Symptoms: Screen stuck, buttons not responding.
Troubleshooting:
- Hold the Power button for 10+ seconds to force a reboot.
- Remove and reinsert the battery.
- Perform a factory reset if the issue persists (via Web GUI or handset menu).
π Forgot Web GUI Password
Symptoms: Canβt log in to the web interface.
Troubleshooting:
- Use the default credentials if not changed:
- Username: admin
- Password: (found on the device label)
- If changed and forgotten, perform a factory reset to restore defaults.
