Having trouble?

The router's lights can help you with diagnosing problems:

 - Power - Is the router powered on?

  • Steady green light indicates the router is powered on.
  • If this light is off, ensure the power button is pressed on and check the power supply.
  • If you still have no luck, try testing another wall power socket.

WAN - Is the router connecting to broadband?

  • Steady green light indicates your Voyager broadband connection is activated.
  • Blinking indicates it's attempting to activate.
  • If this light is not solid after about 10 minutes, ensure the cables are connected correctly to the right ports.
  • Test some spare cables if possible.
  • If you are on ADSL or VDSL, try testing another wall jack point if you have some.

Internet - Is the router logging into Voyager?

  • Steady green light indicates the router has logged into the broadband service with your Voyager username and password.
  • Fast blinking indicates data is being transmitted.
  • If the light is blinking at a slow constant rate, check the broadband configuration on the router.

 - WLAN - Is the WiFi (wireless) switched on?

  • Steady green light indicates WiFi is activated. Fast blinking indicates data is being transmitted.
  • If this light is off, then press the WLAN button on the side of the router to switch it back on.

 - VoIP - Is the phone service working?

  • Steady green light indicates Voice (Phone) service is online. Blinking indicates the service is in use.
  • If this light is off, then check the VoIP configuration on the router.

Configuration Guides

Before you begin:

  • The following steps are for the Voyager retailed Huawei HG659 router. If you have a Huawei HG659 router from another internet service provider, the setup process may be different.
  • You'll need your Voyager username (@vygr.net or @dsl.vygr.net) and password which can be located on the email we had sent to you earlier with the subject "PROV-xxxxx: Broadband Configuration Details"
  • You will need to be connected to the modem's WiFi or (recommended) have a computer with an Ethernet cable plugged into one of the four yellow “LAN” ports on the back of the router.
