Instructions for setting up Voice (VoIP) on a Voyager Huawei HG659 Router

Setting up Voice (VoIP) on your Voyager Huawei HG659 Router

Connecting your phone handset

Use the Grey RJ11 to RJ11 cable included with the Huawei Hg659 modem packaging to connect your phone handset to the  Phone1  port on the back of the modem:

Manually configuring your VoIP Settings

Before you begin:

  • Your Huawei HG659 router is pre-configured with your VoIP/Voice settings so you should only need to refer to this guide if your router has been factory reset or if the settings have been lost, it can be re-configured by following the below steps
  • We do not recommend editing the router settings without consulting us first if you are not familiar with its functionality
  • These settings are for the Voyager retailed Huawei HG659 router. If you have a Huawei HG659 router from another internet service provider, we can not guarantee the VoIP service will be compatible.
  • If you are setting up your Voyager modem for the first time, then please refer to our first time setup guide as these settings will be automatically configured on your modem
  • You’ll need your broadband connection to be fully provisioned and working – check your email for a “PROV-xxxxx: Your service should now be active!” email.
  • You will require your Voyager Voice Realm, Username and Password  which can be located on the email we have sent to you earlier with the subject "PROV-xxxxx: Broadband Configuration Details"
  • You will need to be connected to the router's WiFi or (recommended) have a computer with an Ethernet cable plugged into one of the four yellow “LAN” ports on the back of the router.
